If you’re like me, there’s nothing better after a busy day than settling into a favorite chair and just sitting still. But did you know that even while sitting still, we are still traveling thousands of miles per hour? Because of the earth’s rotation and its movement within the solar system and galaxy, we are hurtling through space at unimaginable speeds.

It’s amazing that we can be moving at such a high rate of speed and not be aware of it. But, in the same way, there are many people today who are speeding through life unaffected by how quickly they are approaching eternity.

Though we are all traveling through time and space together, there are different destinies in eternity. Where will you spend eternity—in Heaven or in Hell? Just think of being in an everlasting place of perfect happiness, or in a never-ending place of pure woe. You will be in one of these forever.

To the children of God in Heaven, in the presence of their Creator and Redeemer, there will come no night, no ending of their holy joy and pleasure. But to the condemned in the pit of woe, there will never rise a star of hope on the dark horizon of their eternal night. Their destiny is fixed; they have entered the blackness of darkness forever (Luke 16:19-31).

Reader, in which of these destinies will you be for eternity? You must be in one of them; you cannot remain on earth forever. God has declared that your never-dying soul will remain forever in either Heaven or Hell (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:46).

Revelation 21:8 says ” But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. We all have told at least one lie so that makes us liars just like it only takes one murder to make someone a murderer.

God, who brought you into being, in whom you live and move, has decreed that you must exist forever. Try to comprehend forever. The open door of an eternal Heaven, and the open door of an endless Hell are both before you. God has permitted you to choose which you will enter at the end of life’s journey. But remember, the choice must be made now, not then. You must decide: where are you going?

To be prepared for that eternal Heaven, you must acknowledge that you are a lost, Hell-deserving sinner before God. You must trust His Son, Jesus Christ, who died as a sacrifice for sinners and rose again (Romans 5:8), as your Savior. To reject, despise, or neglect the Son of God and His offer of salvation, or to try to save yourself, is to doom yourself to Hell. You do not have to be an atheist in order to perish. You do not have to be one of the “worst” sinners to be lost forever. You only have to continue as you are, neglecting God’s great salvation, to perish eternally (Hebrews 2:3). Stop and think! Where are you going?

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! Deuteronomy 32:29

Romans 10:13 says “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Pray a simple sinners prayer and believe it in your heart while you are praying it sincerely!

Dear Heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner and have broken your law. I deserve judgment as the Bible says in the place called hell. But I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the grave! I repent (turn from all my sins realizing they are slowly sending me to hell) and believe on Jesus Christ as my own personal Lord and Savior. Take me to heaven when I die as the Bible says, in Jesus Name, Amen.

John 1:12 says “But as many as received Him (Jesus) to them gave he power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His name.”

You are now born into God’s family on the authority of the Powerful Word of God! Tell someone else how to know that they are on their way to heaven!
